Osmotherley & Area Oil Co-Operative

Ingleby Arncliffe & Ingleby Cross

Our villages and surrounding area are part of Osmotherley Area Oil Co-Operative which operates as follows:

Orders
Orders are placed every 2 months with cut off dates as detailed in the following pages. No orders can be placed outside of these dates and usually no late orders can be accepted after this date.
The orders are collated by Jude and a total amount for our branch of the Oil Club submitted to our price negotiator.  There are 3 branches of the oil club covering Osmotherley area, Borrowby and Ingleby Arncliffe/ Ingleby Cross plus surrounding villages
After negotiations with the main companies delivering to this area, the best price is agreed and the order is placed. Jude sends the supplier a list of members’ names, address, amount of fuel required and any access instructions. (Please note – any other details are not disclosed but if you receive your invoice digitally, then the company will have your email address and may use this for marketing unless you advise them otherwise)
The details of the order – price, company etc. – are circulated to all members of the club regardless of whether oil has been ordered.  This is to keep members informed of changes in the price.

Delivery
Barring any adverse weather, the agreement is for deliveries to be completed within the next 2 weeks which includes Saturdays. If you need confirmation of delivery date to arrange access or require oil urgently please phone the company as soon as you can. Please do mention that you are part of the Osmotherley and Area Oil Cooperative.
Any problems with delivery please contact the supplier in the first instance and then ring Jude if it can't be sorted or if it should be noted for other customers.

Price and payment
The prices received from all the oil companies are very competitive and due to Tristan’s excellent negotiation skills the group always ends up with the very best price from the company that wins. This price is very strictly nett: any vouchers or other promotional discounts will not be accepted against this price. Customers with an AGA or Rayburn who require the additive will pay an extra 1p/litre.
These usual arrangements for payment apply: they will leave a delivery note or you can phone them up after delivery to check the amount owing; you settle up directly with them within two weeks (BACS, cheque or credit / debit card — there may be a small surcharge on credit cards).

Please ensure that you pay promptly for fuel delivered: our ability to negotiate the most advantageous prices and terms for you depends on it.

We have changed the format of the order dates so that they are approximately 8 weeks apart during busy periods.  This is to accommodate oil companies and to ensure delivery within 2 weeks.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT REQUESTS FOR A "FILL UP" ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTED.  This is so that calculations for the tanker capacities and delivery of orders can be more accurately arranged.

Future order dates – to reach Jude Temple by 7 p.m.  as below:-
DATES FOR 2021
  • Tuesday 12th January 2021
  • Tuesday 9th March
  • Tuesday 11th May
  • Tuesday 20th July
  • Tuesday 28th September
  • Tuesday 23rd November - to enable delivery before Christmas

The price for the total oil required will be negotiated by Tristan on Wednesday/ Thursday of that week, the individual order amounts placed by me directly with the supplier on Friday for delivery within the following 2 weeks.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU NEED OIL URGENTLY AND CANNOT WAIT FOR 2 WEEKS – PLEASE ORDER INDEPENDENTLY OUTSIDE OF THE CO-OPERATIVE AS WE CANNOT GUARANTEE URGENT DELIVERIES OWING TO THE VOLUME OF FUEL AND NUMBER OF PROPERTIES INVOLVED.
